Washington D.C

We made a short trip to Washington DC because Ryan's Mom and Stepdad were there for a week vacation and we thought it would be fun to meet up with them for a couple of days. We go there Monday morning, and as soon as we got there we walked around to go see the sites. We were able to see the White House, Washington Monument, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and Vietnam Veterans Memorial all in one day! Also, I learned that the Washington Mall really wasn't a shopping mall like Ryan told me it was, but next time I will know better.

On Tuesday we went to the Washington DC Temple and Visitor's Center. The Temple was so beautiful both inside and out. We particularly liked the stain-glass windows and the fountain inside (I think DC might be the only Temple with a fountain inside. Does anyone know otherwise?) After going through the Temple, we met up one of my girl friends Candace and her little boy Chase and went to lunch. Once lunch was over we took the metro back to the hotel, packed our suitcases, rode the metro to the airport, and then flew home.

How fun! I love DC and definitely wouldn't mind going back some time. Glad you got to go even if it was short.
