The 4th In Idaho

The first thing we did in Idaho was go to a family reunion with Ryan's family.  It was held at Heise Hot Springs, and it turned out to be a beautiful day.  We were able to see a lot of relatives we haven't seen in years.  After the typical reunion stuff we went golfing with Ryan's cousins Rikki and  T.J.

The night after the reunion we went to a Chuckar's game with my uncle Eric and my brother Kurt's family.  My uncle buys a season pass every year, and he has made some friends on the team, so he was able to get Mary Beth and I a baseball.  After the game Tamara and I ran the bases.

The following Monday we went to Boise for a few days to hang out with some friends who just moved from Georgia, the Howells. We went to Jaxson's baseball game, ate dinner at our favorite restaurant  Bajio's,  and also hung out at the pool.

Later we went down to the Boise green belt and rented bikes, and rode them up to the Boise State University campus.  We made sure to ride by the blue turf.  I can't believe their field is blue.  If I were to have my own field I think I would make it fluorescent pink.

On another day we went to the Rexburg
Temple with Ryan's mom.

On the Saturday before the 4th we went fishing with Ryan's dad at American Falls Reservoir. Unfortunately, we didn't end up catching anything but we had fun anyways, driving the boat, hanging out, and getting a nice tan.

The next day, Sunday, we went to Jackson Hole for the day with Dad and Brenda.  We had a great time on the drive there and back, and it was also fun walking around the square.  It was crazy to see how much snow they still had on the mountains.

Our last day in Idaho was the 4th of July.  This is one of our favorite holidays and the reason why we come back to Idaho around this time every year.  We ran the Firecracker 5K Run first thing that morning, and it was Ryan's first 5K ever.  I think we all did a great job!  My finishing time was 29:50 (my best one so far) while Ryan's was 26:21, he pretty much rocked it, I was very proud of him.

After the race we went to our friend's house on 4th street to watch the parade. My sister-in-law was in the parade this year (She is in the bottom left picture), and there was some fun floats this year, good job Idaho Falls!

After the parade we went to meet up with some of his old high school friends. It is always great to see them and reminiscence about old times. It is fun to hear about how each friend's life is developing.

To finish off the day we had a BBQ at my parents house and visited with all the family.  Once the BBQ was over we walked down to the river to hang out at our spot until the firework celebration started.  While we waited for the fireworks to start we played games, visited with friends, and relaxed.  We really enjoyed the firework show this year and it seems to get better and bigger every year.  Thanks to everyone for an awesome trip home.
