Our Trip to Jamaica

This last week we went to the Montego Bay, Jamaica for a few days. It was a fun little get-away and a wonderful three days in the sun.

For our anniversary this last week Ryan and I decided to get some good quality snorkel gear (I know that sounds weird, but that is what we wanted since we are such beach bums now). We had so much fun sun bathing, walking the beach, swimming, and snorkeling. I have never snorkeled before so it was such an awesome experience to see all the little creatures that swim around in the sea and to collect sea shells off the bottom of the ocean.

On Monday night after we left the beach and got ready for the night we took a walk to downtown Montego Bay. There were so many things that I had never seen before. One of them being the source of sugar, sugar cane. I never realized it came from a stick, but then again I never knew that pineapple came from a bush either. Anyway, there was a lot of locals selling sugar cane, so Ryan bought some for me so that I could try it out. This is a picture of the guy we bought the sugar cane from, he was funny and very nice.

Our second day was pretty much a repeat of the day before as we just spent the entire day on the beach. Although, for our last night in Jamaica we went out to dinner at Margaritaville, and we made sure to time it just right so that we could watch the sunset.

Before we left we had to get a picture of us with our newly bought souvenirs from Jamaica. In all, we really enjoyed our stay in Jamaica once we got accustomed to some of the culture differences, but we are looking forward to our next visit to Montego Bay sometime in the future!
