In November 2005 after we had just bought our first home in Idaho Falls I received a calling to serve in the Young Womens as a Second Counselor, and then shortly thereafter in March 2006 I was called to be the Girls Camp Director. The following year I was called to be the Young Womens President just one week before the girls camp. Obviously, there wasn't enough time to replace myself and call a new camp director, so with the wonderful help of a Camp Director Assistant and my Secretary we survived. However, for the next year I made sure that I called a new Camp Director, but I still wanted to go and help out. To this point, that put the count at three girls camps, and when we moved out to Georgia I thought I would be safe for 2009. Well, I spoke to soon because in the beginning of March I was called to be girls camp director again. I was very sceptically about the whole thing at first because I didn't know what to expect how girls camp would be in Georgia. The first day was a little rough, but the next day I just told myself that, "Heather, you can either have a horrible time up here or make the best of it." With this new attitude, I slowly started to have just as much fun as I did back in Idaho. The examples given to me by the other leaders and girls were awesome, and it help strengthen my own testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know this is the true Church and Jesus Christ suffered for our sins and we can be forgiven of our mistakes if we are only faithful to Him and freely forgive ourselves and others. I know temple marriage is a true principle and I can live with my husband and family forever as long as I do my part. I love my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ with all my heart, and I hope I can show this love by the way I live my life.
