- The better, funner side of people tend to be more prominent. Let me explain. While working this last Saturday at Pier 1, with all the craziness that comes with the last Saturday before Christmas, one customer was rockin out to the Christmas music playing in the store. I couldn't help but throw her a smile and then join in on the action with a few funky moves of my own.
- Christmas caroling holds a special place in my heart because it carries with it a unique spirit, the Spirit of Christmas. Tonight the youth from my church went Christmas caroling to a nursing home and some of us adults tagged along to supervise. The message we brought through singing was amazing, and it provided an opportunity for me to reflect on the blessings in my life.
- Meeting new friends. I was walking into my apartment tonight when a neighbor I never met before was just leaving. I happened to say, "Merry Christmas!", and then he said, "Merry Christmas to you, and my birthday is next week too!"
- Spending time together with families and friends. Every year I look forward to gathering with family and friends around the holidays because it is so fun to reunite with them.
- Then the last, but of course not the least of my reasons, is the true meaning of Christmas, our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. Though not actually born in December, I thoroughly enjoy this season where we celebrate His birth. I have had my ups and downs this year, thankfully more ups than downs, but He has always been there to support me. I am thankful to Him for everything He has done, and will surely do for me in my life.
We hope you all have a safe and happy Christmas season.
