Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon

In total, there was over 12,000 people who participated, and each one of them was encouraging and helping others to finish. I ran the race with one of my good friends, Courtney, and we started the race together, but through some minor unfortunate events we did not finish together (See 'Things to Remember" below). But, after all was said and done my finishing time was 2:38 and Courtney's was 2:26, which was good considering our modest goal was 2:30.

Things to Remember:
  • Don't take a large dosage of ibuprofen before a race.
  • Don't drink anything but water before and during a race.
  • Dress according to the weather and be ready in case it changes during the race.
  • Never stop running, even for a potty break.

Thanks Ryan for being there for me at the end even though you only slept for four hours the night before the race. I love you!

After the race, we went over to our friend's house for a wonderful Thanksgiving Day meal. They deep fried the turkey and it was amazing. Ryan invited a co-op from work who had never celebrated Thanksgiving before to come spend the day with us, and it was nice to share the holiday with her. I ended up getting sick from taking too much ibuprofen and was only able to eat a little turkey, mash potatoes, and a roll. Don't worry, I improved very much after a good night sleep at the Hobb's house when Ryan forgot to leave me a key to get inside our apartment.

It was nice to spend the holiday with good friends in lieu of being with family. Thanks again to the Dance Family for having us and others spend Thanksgiving with your family.
