We went to Charlotte, North Carolina to hang out with Ryan's cousins for the weekend. We arrived late on Friday, so we talked for a little bit, and then went to bed. On Saturday, it was Mackenzie's birthday and for lunch she requested Olive Garden.
When we arrived the manager was worried he wouldn't be able to seat us right away, so he went to see if he could find a vacant table. Upon returning the manager said he found the perfect table, and since we all are thin that we would have no problems fitting around the table. As the manager is taking us to our table he clarifies why he made the previous comment. Apparently, there are numerous people who come in every day, very loyal customers he explains, and over the years he has seen them gain 100's of pounds. To be honest, if I were the manager this would not be the way I would advertise my business given the current trends in society. Then after seating down we realize that one of the 'regular' customers was eating a few table down from us (See photo above). Anyways, we had a great time at Olive Garden and the food was delicious, but I would never go on a daily basis with what I now know.
After lunch we went back to their house and Mackenzie opened her gifts from her family. We also ate some of the Blake's famous Cake of Justice. Happy Birthday little miss Makenzie.
After cake we went to downtown Charlotte for the Speed Street festivities. As all of you may know, Charlotte is the birthplace of NASCAR (We didn't know). So, the week before the Coca-Cola 600 race downtown Charlotte is closed to car traffic and everyone walks the streets to eat and play games.
On Monday, Ryan went golfing with Jeff, Parker, and a bunch of other people from the Blake's Stake. I don't think Ryan has been any happier so far this year. He loves to play golf, but with everything going in our lives right now it has been hard for him to play.
While the guys played on the course, the girls slept in. After crawling out of bed, Racquel and I went running and played tennis (Although, for me it was just an attempt at playing). Then, we all got ready for the day and went shopping for material for crafts. We got home about the same time as the guys and then we had lunch together. After lunch we went to the pool and had fun swimming, relaxing, sleeping (Ryan), and being kissed by the sun.
When we returned to the house after swimming we ate dinner, and then we started to make our crafts. I helped the girls make their head bands while we ate treats and enjoyed each other's company. It was a great weekend like always, we always enjoy going to see the Blakes. Thanks again for everything.
