My parents and my Uncle Eric came for their second visit last October during one of their short breaks from work. They arrived really late Wednesday night so we started our adventurers on Thursday.
We drove up to Helen Georgia and on our way we stopped at a little shop
on the side of the road to buy some boiled peanuts. Ryan is the only
one who has tried them before and wanted to introduce it to everyone
else. No one liked them. They must be a food you have to develop an
acquired taste for because we were not impressed.

Once we arrived in Helen we stopped at a miniature golf course to play a round. Of course, Ryan won even though the rest of us scored hole-in-ones. Afterwards, we ate lunch at a picnic area near the golf course.
The next day Ryan worked a half day, so we decided to go to the mall for some shopping until Ryan got home. Once Ryan was home we immediately made our way down to Turner Field for the Braves vs. Cardinals post-season wild card game. It was a great game minus some really bad calls. When a umpire called the infield pop fly later in the game fans started to throw stuff on the field. Understanding the mob mentality could kick in at any moment we decided to leave before the game was over just in case. The Braves ended up losing in the end but it was a good game anyways.
On Saturday we started off early at Kennesaw Mountain, went through the museum, and watched a video about why Kennesaw Mountain was an important cross road in the Civil War. We also took the bus to the top of the mountain and then hiked up a little hill to get a good view of the surrounding area.
Later we went to Marietta square. We walked around visiting some of the antique shops and stopped by Miss Mamie's for some yummy gourmet cupcakes. Everyone got a different type of cupcake and obviously we enjoyed them very much. On our way back to the apartment we drove pass the Big Chicken, which they got a kick out of, who wouldn't like a humongous mechanical chicken?
The rest of the weekend we watched General Conference, played games, and ate great food. We are thankful for my parents and Uncle Eric for coming to visit us and we are looking forward to the next time they come for a visit.
