We walked Ryan's mom down to the metro to say good bye, and then we started a new day with another full schedule starting with the Musee National du Moyen-Age. Afterward we took a short walk to the Pantheon where Foucault proved the Earth's rotation by suspending a pendulum from the center of the dome and observing its motion. We then took the metro over to the strangely designed Centre Georges Pompidou which house a collection of modern art which includes works of Picasso, Dali, Matisse, and Warhol. Afterward we ended the day with more cheese and bread back in our hotel room while also playing a few games of Rage.

Day 7:
We started bright and early today with the Musee du Louvre. We spent the entire day at the Louvre with leaving only to eat lunch, and in total spent 8 hours there. Despite devoting the entire day to the Louvre we still were not able to see everything it had to offer. After the Louvre closed we walked to the nearby Seine River and walked a long the bank until we came upon the Paris Plage. Then we walked over the bridge to Notre -Dame Cathedral and waited until the bells we rung. We sat and listened to the bells for a good 15 minutes. What a great experience.

Day 8:
As mentioned we didn't quite finish the Louvre the day before. So, with another early start we invested another 2 hours into it hoping to finish it off. From the Louvre we went to the Musee Guimet, an Asian art museum, and enjoyed the art on display. We especially enjoyed the art from Thailand as we just visited The Land of Smiles recently. We then walked in the rain to get some lunch, send our post cards from the Eiffel Tower, and the culminate our day with a visit to the Quai Branly Museum. The Quai Branly was extremely interesting as it focuses on indigenous art forms from the Pacific Islands, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. We thought it would be a good thing to end our day early. With another day in the books we headed back for some rest and relaxation.

Day 9:
It was sad to wake up to the rain again but nothing was going to stop us on our last day. We first went to the Sacre-Coeur which is the second highest point in Paris and to get there we walked up hundreds of stairs. By the time we started to walk back down the rain decided to letup a little. So, we took advantage of the somewhat good weather and took the metro across town to the Cimitiere du Pere-Lachaise. In all our vacations this is the first time we have significant time in a cemetery. To be honest, we had fun walking, talking, and taking pictures until the rain started up again. At this point in the our trip we were exhausted and took the rainy afternoon as an opportunity to take a short nap so we could be rested to visit the Eiffel Tower later in the day.
When we awoke from our nap we were happy the rain decided to stop and the sky cleared up. We had a great time eating our last crepes in Paris and watched the Eiffel Tower light up. On every hour on the hour the tower will sparkle for about ten minutes, so we waited around until the tower sparkled which was amazing. The next morning we got up and said our goodbyes to Paris and started for the airport.
