Day 1:
I woke up early and relaxed until I thought Ryan's mom was ready to head into the city. We got into the city and wandered through several malls, streets, parks, and finally found some food to eat before heading back to the hotel.
Ryan meet up with us at the hotel, and then we went to Tung Chung where we walked through a mall and bought groceries from a nearby store. We took the shuttle back to the Hotel, ate dinner, watched Seinfeld, and then went to bed.
Day 2:
When I woke up this morning I saw that it was rainy and gloomy outside, so we just hung out in the hotel until it was time to chck out. We went from one hotel to another because we wanted to stay in the city while Ryan had some time off. Surprisingly, we were able to find the hotel by ourselves without too much trouble, and after checking in we waited for Ryan to show up. Once Ryan got to the hotel, we went to the Ladies Market even though it was raining. We went from booth to booth trying to stay out of the rain, but after an hour we realized the rain wasn't going to lighten up so we bought umbrellas. We finished the night off walking through the remainder of the Ladies Market and then went back to hotel for some rest.
Day 3:
This was one of the few days we actually slept in. We had planned to attend the Temple in the afternoon, but realized the museum we wanted to visit didn't open until much later than we thought. So, we went to an earlier sesson at the Temple. Usually mormon temples are easy to find, but we were having a hard time locating Hong Kong's temple with all the other buildings obstructing our view. Fortunately, we ran into some missionaries and they escorted us to the Temple.
After visiting the Temple we returned to the hotel and changed our clothes, found a place to eat, and went to Hong Kong's History and Science Museums. Each of them were fun to visit, and we happened to be there on International Museum Day (I didn't even know this day existed) so our entrance was free.

Afterwards, we walked down by the bay to see the Hong Kong skyline and take some pictures (none of them turned out very good). We came across a really cool statue of Bruce Lee. Apparently, Bruce Lee is a big deal in Hong Kong.
Day 4:
We woke up to clear blue skies today, so we decided to visit the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery today since the weather was cooperating. To get to the monastery you take a cable car ride, which provided outstanding views of the nearby mountains and ocean. When we got off the cable car we walked through a little street with some shops and statues, then it was 250 steps to the top.
Coming down is always the fun part. After reaching the bottom of the stairs we walked around the Po Lin Monastery, and even had some good laughs while trying to jump over a post. As evidenced by the photos Ryan is a better jumper than Heather!
We started to become fatigued from the intense sun and humidity, so we returned to the bottom of the mountain in Tung Chung and immediately bought lunch. We returned to the city and stopped by the Art Museum, and even though a good part of the museum was closed we enjoyed their exhibits. From the museum we returned to our hotel, relaxed for a short time, and then went out to the Ladies Market. Everyone ended up buying something this time around. Once we got back to the hotel, Ryan and I went swimming in the hotel's pool they had on the roof. Then we called it a night.
Day 5:
We took the metro early in the morning to make sure mom and I would make our morning flight. Ryan had to stay in Hong Kong another week for work, and it stunk saying good bye even though I would be seeing him again in a few days. Our trip was short and sweet.

What a fun and unique trip! I love all the photos, both the far away and the close up. It is interesting that that giant statue has a mark on his hand like the Savior. Weird, huh?
