Roatan Honduras

Day 1

After we landed we took a taxi to our hotel on the other side of the island near West End Bay.   We stayed in a bungalow, which had 2 bedrooms and 2 baths with a kitchen outside on the shared patio.  It happened to be just off the ocean and so the view was amazing.   It didn't take long before we were in our swim suits and headed toward the beach

Day 2
Ryan left the bungalow before everyone else to start his SCUBA certification, and by the time we rolled out of bed and made it to the beach he was just finishing up.

The remainder of the day we relaxed on the beach and nothing else, which is my idea of a perfect day.

Day 3

This day we decided to take a water taxi over to a different beach, named Half Moon Bay.  The beach was a long and beautiful.  We enjoyed laying out, snorkeling, eating awesome food, and playing with our awesome beach toys!

Day 4

While the guys went SCUBA diving the ladies went and swam with dolphins.

The dolphin we interacted with the most was named Mr. French.  As you can see he likes to give everyone kisses, not french kisses, just normal kisses.  He was adorable and super fun to play with, but then so were the other 15 plus dolphins we snorkeled/swam with.  After both of our amazing activities we meet up and went back to our bungalow to hang out.

Day 5

We went to West End Bay Beach where we once again laid out on the beach and worshiped the shade, which sounds like an odd activity for a beach vacation, right?  Well, this was done in an effort to prevent us from being cremated by the sun.  We had been using SPF 50 the entire trip thus far to no avail, so we only came out of the shade on occasion.

Almost ever night while we were hanging out on the patio one of us was in the hammock while we talked or played games.  Those droopy, colorful things are so comfortable and fun.

Day 6

The guys went diving again while the girls laid at the beach until they came back.  After the guys finished their dives we went to a private beach where a massage therapist lived so that Kristin and I could get pampered.  This was my first massage while on vacation and Kristin's first massage in her life, and we both agreed that it was amazing.

Day 7

For our last full day in Roatan we decided to return to Half Moon Bay.  It was a great way to finish off a fabulous week on the beach and in the sun with our awesome friends Ryan and Kristin.   We can't wait until our next trip with them next year!

How FUN!!! What a relaxing vacation. The warm weather and the beach sound sooooo good right now. (It's supposed to rain all week here) I have always dreamed of swimming with dolphins. Lucky girl!
